When I was 14, I realized that the bass guitar on Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ album was the reason the drums sounded so good to me. It wasn’t the notes, it was the sound. I didn’t know why or how that could be, just that I wanted to find out. I’ve had a love affair with sound ever since. I love that it’s the language of how things and people feel. Music, soundscapes, sound design, arm-pit-fart noises – all of it amazes me. Now I make sounds every day, with and for people I truly hold dear. That’s sublime.
